Meringue, Alcohol and Us
Biography
Amanda, Bruce and Judicaël are the band "Meringue, Alcohol and Us" in October 2006 after a chance encounter in a bar in Poitiers. They start to see around a few times, but very quickly blend their influences and the need to work on their own compositions arises. The first pieces revolve mainly around the guitar and vocals and then gradually, mandolin, xylophone, ukulele and cello are emerging. Thus, the sounds of the group gradually moving away from traditional folk. The first demo is then followed up in 2007, the year after, the first of a long effort praised by the independent press.

HollyhockEP : at first listen, not many changes in music, and it falls pretty well. Finally, this is what I thought before going deeper into the songs. Without upsetting the trinity governing the compositions of Meringue, Alcohol and Us (simplicity, lightness, melodies), we feel that the group has slipped a few banana skins under the foot of the listener, a pop of color over the delicious' You Twice Saved My Life Today 'heady and simplicity (a simple rhythm with a battery that appeared in the group, a nice transition to the glockenspiel), or otherwise tortured a tint of' This Is Not My Favourite Kind of Dance 'taut like a bow. And in between, it will be appreciated 'Black Eye Blues', as evanescent bathed in the light of a pale moon, the catchy 'Nature Hates Me' strong character, and finally 'The Disappoint', which As its name suggests, is pretty rough.
