Woof Trade Publishing Limited

Woof Trade Publishing Limited was founded in 1991 by the group THE BARKING DOGS. 4 albums later and 1000 concerts in Europe, the group stopped in 1997. The two main shareholders, Jason Barnard and Xavier Collin, who created in 1993 booking company (Tourbillon) decided to direct WTPL to the accompaniment of art projects through the role of publisher. The first signatures of the artists are developing through the tour and Tourbillon: Marcel & son Orchestre, Useless, Jan Stého, Les Belles Lurettes, PPz30 ...

In 1999, Jason Barnard was nominated for UCON 99 in San Francisco for the site Boowa and Kwala, a site dedicated to children from 2 to 8 years in the world. It is up beta tester for Macromedia (Flash 5). Several venture capitalists and business angel approached. The multimedia division is sold to the new entity to Jason: Up To Ten (www.uptoten.com)

W.T.P.L. Music

Xavier Collin WTPL acquire all of 2001 and highlighting the work of publisher. In September, Tétard enters studio with Robin Feix and Gaétan Roussel de Louise Attaque for the realization of the 3rd album: "Faudra Faire Avec".

PIAS

An exclusive agreement of distribution is signed between Booster rocket and PIAS for France in December, 2006. The year which follows starts with the signature in edition and exits via Booster rocket of Lezard Martien, Vasithy, Arbon, Thierry Zaboitzeff. Mad River will also take out his first album in May, then the album of Tétard in September, the 3rd album of Unswabbed ' In Situ ' in October. Stalemate Bowl, in spite of several interests of different quality-labels his first album with us will also go out. Several foreign partners join our development to offer our artists: SONIC BOOM! (Benelux), Lugeon (Switzerland) and Ghost Medium / Universal (Germany / Austria). Yules will take out his first album to Special Productions.

Booster Store

2008 is going to give a tendency to manage all alone. We follow the development of our own tools via physical distribution in France (PIAS, The Other Distribution, Discograph) and the foreigner. WTPL Music is first of all a structure of publishing. New plans signed in 2007 or early in the year develop. FELIPECHA takes out his first album to At (H) ome / Wagram, STRESS is signed at UP Music / Warner (taken out in 2009). 10 RUE D'LA MADELEINE ended the recording of its new album (taken out in April, 2009). Years of transition and taken choices

A regular collaboration with Mounir Belkhir (Nubians, Melissa Mars, B.O. of Taxi...) lead us to work on Oryane Wilson. The single first ' Don ' t Stop ' is signed at Polydor which returns the contract 3 months later without having begin anything. They throw the single and the pop video of ' I Love You ', song of love for a missing mum. It is a big success in the regional radios. Title is classified Yacast, but does not come back on a national radio. The public stays in date for the titles which follow. L'HOMME PARLE sees his song ' La Crise ' seen by more than 3 Million different internauts and the lip dub of Europe Ecology for European elections in France will be. Title is the album was compiled in numerous countries as Poland, Germany, Turkey, Canada... STALEMATE BOWL takes out its 2nd album with a new fantastic pop video for the song ' Bonbons '. 10 RUE takes out EP in English. Bat' Ker, sells 5000 album in Meeting and prepares the pop video on ' Le facteur de Mafate '. Micoe gets involved with WTPL on his first EP. Mahelle signs for 3 years on the development of his titles. The first models record themselves at David's Perraudin's in Tours. Sajadi entrusts his album out of Switzerland and TROMPE LE MONDE his two albums. TWINDAYS takes out his first album.

Woof Canada Inc

In 2010, Warner Chappell buys back K-Pone Inc Publishing. WTPL creates the own subsidiary in Canada in May, in association with Michel Gratton (Go Music). Management is entrusted to Editorial Avenue. The company is going to represent all catalogue WTPL in pence edition for Canada and to open its services to other publishers little by little.

 

Laborie Jazz

After a common trip in Tokyo, Jean-Michel Leygonie and Xavier Collin think about a partnership on the catalogue of Laborie Jazz. The artists of the quality-label sign in edition with WTPL, which transfers funds on rights generated to support the activity of Foundation Laborie and the development of the artists, all nominated on numerous prices linked to the jazz.

WTPL is 20 years old

In 2011, further to numerous requests, we agree to manage rights for other editors. The first collaboration is made with Up To Ten and B.O. classifies enlivened sold and broadcast in more than 40 countries. Paul Frappier aka BNB left us February 12th, 2011. Rest in peace my friend...

Mathilda Braure (ex-Les Belles Lurettes) came back to WTPL for the solo plan. A first EP is accomplished to support his performance during 3 weeks with counter closed in Avignon in July. The album will be for 2012. MONSIEUR LUNE takes out his 3rd album, in coedition with WTPL this time. The single new ' 2 Nite simple percentage your night ' of ORYANE comes back on FUN Radio, in beep 10 during 6 weeks and title meets on summer compilations. UNSWABBED takes out his 4th album. An existent selection of previous album in acoustics and unpublished two. The pop video ' Just a dream ' accomplished by William Panariello (ex-10 RUE) is a true short film. Anorak Supersports entrust the sub-publishing of the album of LABIUR to our society and the single first ' Little Bitch ' have a very nice pop video.

Stoned Popes begins the collaboration with WTPL with their first EP. Title ' What ' s Comin ' After ' is synchronized in a TV film, the group carries off the price of Foundation Lagardère and exchanges with quality-labels go good train. Martelene Gabon wrote 2 titles in Frenchman for Giorgis, young artist Greek who sees in Barcelona. Editions of Grande Berhte begin their collaboration with WTPL Music with the sub-edition of the album of JUNES. Idem for Editions 3413 of Montreal with the album of Bodh' aktan. They stay in the same musical family with the first album of The Moorings, which brings us back 20 years, at the beginning of Barking Dogs behind. The curl is fastened... Not sure.

Dubians and JFunk, at the instigation of Vincent Cunat de Waz Records, entrust us their editions. They get involved on a new promising talent of the region: Bazz Phaz. The obvious author / compositor Hafid Ouadda her desire to work with WTPL Music, and comes with the plan of Majid Life, singer raï spotted in last Francofolies by France Ô.

Woof Germany GmbH

After a participation in last Popkomm in Berlin in September, 2011, it became obvious that a presence on the 2nd European market of rights passes by a direct management to GEMA. Rapprochement is made with FIRST Publishing in joint venture. Thomas Franke and Xavier Collin are friendly for more than 20 years. Thomas being the first turner of The Barking Dogs in Germany. The creation of the society is real in May, 2012 and the wholeness of the sub-edition of the catalogue of WTPL is set up. Structure can now offer its services to other publishers.

Marthélène comes back with a plan for Halloween. A song on monsters with the pop video which goes with. They recover rights for Erika and Emigrante on the album taken out to Iris (Harmonia Mundi) in 2009. MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY signs for the world with us. This group of Luxembourg is the European ambassador of Maths Rock, spotted in December, 2011 in Sonic Vision where Xavier Collin intervened on IP Rights.

NADJ signs the editions and we help it to take out his 4th album to Booster / PIAS for France, Phénix Records for the Switzerland and Parka Supersports for the Benelux. SORRY ET TOUTES MES EXCUSES well makes laugh us. Then they sign the album to introduce it.

LABIUR cancels benefits in three Francofolies (Spa, Montreal and Rochelle) to participate as 'Emilie ' in the program of television reality Secret Story on TF1. They smell the bang on sales, stream and youtube.

The collaboration with editions of Big Berthe continues with the exit of the album of Sebastian Peiry. Mathilda Braure played again 3 weeks in Avignon during the festival.
